Craziness!!

Well hello there everyone if anyone who reads this. I have been to tired to even relive my days with bloggin but tonight decided I wanted to. My husband has switched from a night shift to a crack of dawn shift where is goes in at 6. So him being home in the evenings is a adjustment for everyone especially Kelley who at two has trouble wondering why daddy doesn't get her up in the morning anymore and why now he gets her ready for bed. She asks about him all day. This morning she wanted to make sure that daddy also was able to eat breakfast before he went to work. She loves her daddy and has definetely been a daddy's girl from the begging.
So our day today we went to my parents (without daddy since he had to work) and got see miss Rita who is practically like my grandma but not blood related. Everytime I see her I miss her husband homer so much. He died a few years ago. I am thankful for the memories I have with them especially of dancing with him at my wedding. Luke was spoiled was held by someone all day today and he loved it. I had a good friend of my mine also stop by I used to babysit for her when I was younger and now her kids babysit for mine. Anyways she brought over some dressed for me to borrow for this weekends wedding we are going to. I still have weight to lose since I was pregnant and none of my clothes fit yet plus I needed one I could nurse in and she had two perfect fit ones for me. I am so excited that I didn't have to go buy any. My brother and his wife and kids also came over today so Kelley had fun playing with them. We were there all day and got home and it was pretty much time for bed although both slept in car since Kelley didn't get a nap today. Before I put Kelley to sleep I tried to get her stuff together for this weekend for the wedding but I didn't get far so tomorrow I will have to pack. After I got her in bed I tried that magical thing called taking a shower where you wash your hair and shave yea well zach came in saying Luke was screaming and ready to eat so I did my best. I'm pretty tired from being up with him last night he is still gassy/constipated and was restless in his sleep plus if I don't fall asleep before zach starts snoring I have had a hard time sleeping. Which is my plan after this. Also Kelley has been having pp accidents in her car seat and we keep having to take it apart to wash it which is a lot of work. Finally today I think I got the p smell out. No idea why she is having so many accidents in the car but she is still very young to be so well potty trained already. Tonight before we left my parents I got her ready for bed and put a diaper on her so I wouldn't have to stop to take her p. She fell asleep almost instantly in car and stayed dry the whole time. Ironic. Any ideas on how to get her to quit going in her car seat?
Thoughts from today: as I watched my brother trying to discipline his very tired four year old son I sat laughing and thinking how nice it is sometimes to know that you aren't in this alone and everyone yes everyone has those moments with their children. Before you have children and even after you think we are the best most perfect parents and have the perfect child. Our child will never miss behave, steal toys (use her teeth by biting the toys to steal them), yell mine mine mine all day long, completely flip her lid when someone else is playing with her special baby doll or Minnie Mouse, throw tantrums for absolutely no reason  and you also think even if they do do these things you are the perfect parent right so you know exactly how to respong and you never lose your cool.... To this I laugh hahahahaha!! Every child is their own person you cannot control them no matter how hard you try and they have no sensor as to when they will shock you with a wild tantrum no matter how hard you teach them and try your best to discipline and you will also learn that as perfect as you try to be you will flip out and not keep your cool at times..... But even though all this occurs we still love our babies and yes we still think they are perfect because they are perfect little monsters that we helped create :). I love my babies and try so hard to teach them right from wrong but you know sometimes I have those same temper tantrums for no reason at all other than I'm tired or hungry or just want it my way so I will continue to pray for my babies and pray that God will give me the patience and knowledge to teach them in his ways. Anyone else relate to this? Kelley is at that age where it is so hard sometimes I just feel libel a failure and like  I don't know what else to do to somedays. She is slowly learning to play with others and share but we have a very looong road ahead of us.

Fabulous day

Today was great. It started out with snuggles in bed which means zach and I got to sleep I while Kelley watched cartoons in bed with us. She woke me up by giving me a huge hug. I love my little princess! After breakfast Kelley played and did puzzles while zach and I worked on paying bills woohoo and Luke played in the floor. Luke was full of coos and squeals. He loves his morning playtime in the floor by himself. After that we made our way up to the playroom. Time goes by so fast everyday I feel like we barely have time to do things and we turn around and the day is gone. We try our best to make the Best out of our time.
Today's letter was H for horse :)
After lunch zach and Luke hung out upstairs while Kelley and I played outside. We put baking soda in the water table and added buttons and glitter then used a squirt bottle which was to hard for kelley so I gave her one to squeeze instead it had vinegar and food color in it. She absolutely loved it when it fizzed up and kept saying oh wow! This was a great sensory and also fine motor skill activity. She loved hiding the buttons and then finding them and picking them up again.
Tonight Kelley got to go to the highschool volleyball game with her grandparents. She had so much fun and got to eat pizza and ice cream she was in heaven.
I got to have extra snuggle time with my little man while she was gone.
I did not realize how much I needed a break tonight. I am so thankful for great in laws who take Kelley to do such fun things so mommy can catch her breath. I love my baby girl but it is nice to have a break and it makes me a better mommy when I don't feel so crazy! Had a great day!

Play date with a new friend/ sick day

Yesterday we had a playdate with a new family that we met at our church. We went over to their house. They have a four year old girl and nine month old boy. I really enjoyed visiting with Christel and getting to know her more our girls on the other hand. Kelley was really excited to go but right off the bat started crying when we got there. Kelley is very shy and takes her a long time to warm up to some people. She usually does not have any trouble with other kids so this was a new experience to see her so upset and nervous. Towards the end of the playdate she seemed to warm up some and started playing. Here was the problem tinley seems to be very talkative and outgoing so she really wanted Kelley to play with her and she would try to make her do things. This is totally normal behavior for most kids and she is four so two years older than Kelley. Kelley though does not do well with that personality but  I have great faith that next play date will go better. She did get shut in the closet with the lights off so that didn't exactly help things. They were playing hide n seek so I do not think it was meant to be mean on the little girls part. She did get a time out but while she was in timeout After Kelley finished crying she went to find her to play again so I don't think she was to turned off by it. Later of course Kelley got in trouble for pushing. No child is perfect and as parents we never know what our crazy kids will do. First play dates I feel can also be awkward both people trying to be as normal as possible not to scare the other people away and try our best to keep our kids looking like angels who never disobey this of course is not the way it goes our. Children will do the craziest things when you least expect it. After we got home we ate lunch and Kelley took a nap. She was exhausted and having all sorts of crazy melt downs like completely becoming hysterical because she spilled water on her in her car seat, my fault the lid wasn't on all the way. I was hoping for a long nap but she did her typical just a little more than an hour. She seemed better the rest of the day. We got a few lesson things accomplished. All in all was a pretty good day if I remember correctly. I forget so much if I don't blog that night. Her grandparents stopped by in the evening and pawpaw took Kelley outside to ride her four wheeler toy car thing. She seemed to be acting all shy and weird around them also which is unlike her. I figured it was to much for her this week being at my parents for so long with so many people to see and then church Sunday followed by two play date in a row. Well when she woke up with runny nose this morning it made since that she had not been acting quite like herself the past few days. Kelley and I did get a quick dance party in together I love dancing with her and she loved dancing all day. We have a CD player in the living room where she can reach it and whenever she wants she can turn it on and dance. Luke and I also enjoyed a dance party before he went to bed. It reminded me of when Kelley was a baby and I would hold her and dance with her. Made me want to hold him even closer because they grow up so fast!
Today overall I can't say it was horrible but  we had horrible moments. Kelley not feeling good today made me also in grumpy short tempered mood. My husband pointed out I was being snappy so I escaped to our room by myself for a couple of min to give myself a timeout until they all found me and jumped in bed with me lol. Kelley got several time outs today and I lost my cool several times raising my voice. She got timeouts for not cleaning up and one for touching the fan and leaving her hand on it which I freaked out because I was worried she would get her fingers caught in. We were able to do some lessons but she just couldn't focus today which made me even more frustrated and then guilty because I can see she has a runny nose and doesn't feel good. Luke had a good day but cried all through getting dinner ready and Kelley ready for bed. He was gassy and just wanted to sleep with me holding him but I kept having to put him down to do things. After Kelley went to bed I held him until I gave him a bath and got him in pjs and gave him one long nursing session before bed. So far he is staying asleep. Between the past two days I have gotten laundry washed and dried and now sitting on my couch and I got my dishes done. Today my husband vacuumed up dog hair around the House so that was nice. Besides that no other house work has been done. I'm exhausted from Kelley not feeling good and Luke being gassy. Praying everyone sleeps good and wakes up in much better moods. As much as I love my babies sometimes Mommy just needs a day off.
She loves peanut butter crackers
Gluing and glitter for our shape of the day
Tummy time together looking in the mirror
We have done this activity several times she gets better each time. We started this when she very young and she loves it. Pipe cleaners through a strainer. Perfect fine motor activity.
Big smiles after releasing gas :)
Letter G color page, went outside and picked up grass and glued to letter G
Number six color page and gluing six buttons on number. She wasn't very interested in coloring today or yesterday .
Color of the day was green. The plan was to find all the green Legos but she wasn't interested in that after finding a few so I told her we could play a game. She loves the idea of a game. So I set out the different colors and had her match the little ones to the big ones. She liked this much better.
Homemade marinara sauce from my inlaws made from their yummy tomatoes out of their garden . We loved it for dinner tonight!
Luke trying out the bumbo seat for first time. He liked it. He seems to be interacting more when we show him toys and play with him and he coos and make baby noises more. Zach even said when I walked by while he was in the floor he tracked me with his eyes. This is progress! His eyes do seems to be darting more like kelleys so that is sad but we will wait to confirm anything until he sees the eye doctor again.

Discovery center!

This morning we had a playdate at the discovery center. It was our first time to go and daddy was sad he wasn't able to go. My friend had a free pass for us woohoo. She has a almost four year old daughter who plays with Kelley and she also has a little baby boy who was born this year on Kelleys birthday July 5th. Brooke and I met this year at a girls night out and we have been great friends every since and our girls love playing with each other. Kelley really enjoyed the center, there was so much for her to learn and do and Hailey, her friend, ran around showing her the ins and outs of everything. Of course the day wasn't without mishap. Miss Kelley got in trouble a few times for running off and she also got in trouble for not sharing but it's all a learning process! Right? Luke slept the first little bit, cried, was gassy, ate, and fell back asleep with some small cries off and on. I also had fun getting to visit with my friend and see my baby girl turn into a big girl running all around playing. After we got home we ate lunch and took a nap. I was hoping for a nice long nap but Kelley napped just a little over an hour. Luke on the other hand napped until I woke him up three hours later. The discovery center must have worn him out :). While Kelley was eating snack (yogurt) I decided since last week we only did one day of lessons since I did a cleaning day and then we were gone the rest of the week that I would pick one thing from her lessons to do today. So while Kelley finished her yogurt, decided to wash her hands in her water cup, use her spoon to move water from her cup to her yogurt container and then dump it back in her cup I ignore all this and got her project ready. I bought a grater at the dollar store (well I got one at target for almost $3 then found the same one at the dollar store so I took the other one back) I used four different colors of chalk and got them all the way down to a powder and let Kelley feel the powder and tell me what each color was before I added 1/2 cup of water to each one and we painted the fence outside. I picked the shadyiest spot I could because it is extremely hot right now. She had so much fun painting the fence with me and of course got it all over her so after painting she got a bath. After that is when we woke Luke up to eat and play upstairs. He absolutely adores his big sister who gave him hugs and kisses and he just smiles in response. While we all played upstairs I worked on trying to get Luke to not turn his head to the side that is flat by putting a pillow on his side which he doesn't like. Right now for Luke I am trying hard to get him to focus on things and track so I show him lots of toys that make noise. He is also smiling lots and seems to respond with big smiles when we play peek a boo so we also do that. Working on trying to sitting up and tummy time. He loves to sit up and sometimes likes tummy time but not today so it didn't last long. Kelley likes to lay on her tummy facing him and do tummy time together. While playing with Luke I also have to play and give Kelley attention so we worked on colors and counting while rolling balls back and forth. Ever since she was little we would introduce a few signs to her and she really seems to enjoy learning them so I google new ones whenever I can. Today I was teaching her new colors in sign language. It really helps her to learn sometimes if she can't remember what a color is all I have to do is the sign and she remembers. She can do most of the signs herself but some she has trouble making her fingers do the correct position so she does her own versions for now. I wish I knew more signs but it is also fun learning them with her. After upstairs play we ate dinner and got ready for bed. Every night we sit either in her bed or on the couch and read books and a bible story out of her little bible. Bible stories are her favorite and I love that. All thoughtout the day she will bring her bible to me and ask me to read. Sometimes Luke's joins us for story time but not always. Sometimes it's just a good snuggle one and one for Kelley since after she goes to bed is when I play, hold and snuggle Luke. Tonight I had to do another suppository for poor Luke who has been backed up lately. I did some last week and then he had one day he went by himself then it's been a few days and he has been really uncomfortable so I did another one today and oh my word not to be gross but yea poop everywhere. Hoping that will be the last one I have to do. After he goes to bed I shower do any cleansing picking up that I have energy for and then go to bed which is exactly where I am headed now. Thanks for reading :) hope you had as good a day as we did today! More fun tomorrow!
Waiting her "heyie" Hailey to arrive
Bed of nails

Family weekend fun!!

We had the best week/weekend! My grandparents and aunt made the 8 hour trip to my parents which is the last time they will be able to make the long drive because my papaw has cancer in his bones and the drive is to hard for him, my sister and her four kids also came they live four hours away and me and my kiddos which is only a 45 min drive for us. We stayed wed-sat and my husband joined us fri-sat then we came home. Kelley had so much fun playing with all her cousins. My brother and his wife and two kids also live there so they came over every day to see everyone. My sister in law is expecting her third baby. Our family has been blessed with so many children it's so crazy and fun to all be in the same house. I was able to take Kelley swimming everyday she had so much fun and is really getting good swimming with her floaty thing. Saturday my husband and I celebrated six years of marriage! We have had our ups and down but we have had more ups than downs :) we are excited for many more years to spend together. He is my best friend and the one I tell everything to. My mom was able to keep both kids after we got them to sleep so we could go to dinner and get a movie to watch back at her house. We had fun on our first evening out without Luke. He did wake up but my mom was able to get him back to sleep. Since I only nurse him and I haven't started pumping yet I got nervous when he woke that he would want to eat. Saturday night we went and grilled with our friends and their kids. I love that Kelley has so many friends to play with.
Today we got up late but were still able to get ready and make it to church on time. Kelley has grown so much she will now walk into the nursery without crying and plays the whole time. Church was amazing! Luke was fairly content so I was able to listen to the message and worship during music. Zach took Luke out towards the end to the cry room so I was able to listen to the whole sermon this time.

Cleaning day

Everyone slept in this morning it was so nice and relaxing. We snuggled, had a nice big breakfast and then just played until lunch. After lunch was nap and I was able to get the dishes done. Luke didn't nap long so he laid in bed with me and we played with his toys practicing his focus and tracking. He still isn't. He is full of smiles again today! After nap and snack I continued getting the laundry done and Kelley played so well while I got  the whole house vacuumed except stairs and room upstairs. I had to stop at one point to feed Luke and play some then finished vaccuumed. When I got done with that I had get Kelley to help me clean up all her toys she dragged out while I was doing floors and then we had dinner. Luke was fussy during dinner so I had to hold him until he fell asleep he then slept until I got Kelley to bed. I got all the laundry washed, dried, folded, and put up that's pretty exciting for one day. I also got floors mopped after Kelley went to bed. We have mostly hardwood in our house so lots to mop. I am a crazy clean freak but since having Luke I haven't had time to clean at all today was the most I have done since he arrived. I didn't do as deep cleaning as I wanted to but I got a lot accomplished today. I also got everyone packed and ready for our trip to stay with family this week. My parents live a hour away so we are staying with them a couple of days because my aunt uncle grandparents and my sister and her kids are coming. My brother his wife and kids live there also so we will get to see lots of family. I'm so excited! And nervous it's first time staying away from home with Luke. I had a lot to pack with two kids this time. My hubby has to work so he will be missing us like crazy and we will miss him tons too.
Here's some pictures of Kelleys in her ballerina outfit playing princess horses and trains. And a picture of Luke who fell asleep for the first time during tummy time. Trying to do more tummy time to help his flat head. He also fell asleep in his swing for the first time today but I think it was because I was running the vacuum and he loves that sound. Well it's past midnight and I still need to shower. Goodnight everyone :)

Luke's eye apt

It's almost midnight and I am just now in bed. Completely exhausted from our long day. I'm not really sure how to describe Luke's doctors apt. I think I may be more confused, anxious, and I don't know what else about it. We had a nice relaxing  three hour drive there. Didn't have to stop at all. My sister lives in the same town so we were able to stop by and see her and her four girls and I got to see her newest little one for the first time. She was born just a little after Luke. Today was the first day I felt like Luke was definetely smiling at us. As soon as he saw his cousin milee he started smiling and my sister. After that he seemed to just smile all day everytime anyone would talk to him. I love his smile I will have to try to get a picture.
Apt: Luke ended up being seen by THREE different doctors today. They didn't seem to be able to get a good look because he wouldn't focus on them or any of the toys they kept showing him. At one point even though they did not say it they seemed to be a little frantic not sure if he was responding to light. They did dialate his eyes also today. He had to be held still to be looked at and he cried so hard :( makes my heart break. They eventually got everything looked at and came to the conclusion. He is still very young to be able to say anything or pinpoint a problem as of right now, all three doctors seemed out of their depth, they decided he has wondering nystagmus. His eyes do not dart fast back and forth like Kelleys do his more wonder slowly back and forth. His eye nerves and response to light does seem to look good (happy about that). One doctor said she is not very familiar and hasn't seen a lot of nystagmus cases so she wasn't sure (confused why we were sent to this office if they don't know anything about it). Two of the doctors said it could clear up meaning they would stop moving. The other doctor didn't come back in after she called in the other one who called in the other one. So here's the confusing part about the statement that his eyes could get better. If he does have nystagmus there is no cure it will not get better. Even Kelley who had a surgery 6 months ago to help with her eyes they can not be stopped from actually darting back and forth there is no surgery that can fix this at this time. Kelley was diagnosed at about 14 weeks with nystagmus. Luke is only 9 weeks so his eyes may progress worse like Kelleys. There is a small concern that he is not focusing and tracking like Kelley was but once again he is still right at the age to begin doing this so it is hard to tell if there is a major issue or not. Although the doctors were nice today and as thorough as they good be I feel like Kelleys eye doctor who sees her and did her surgery will have a better idea. She was not available to be seen today but she will be his doctor from here on out. She will see him in sept when she does a check up on Kelleys eyes. Until then if they decide they want to see him before then or run any more imaging tests or we notice any change then we will have to go back but if not we will not until the end of sept. Here are a few pictures of him today. A close up when his eyes were Dialated.
The last hour of our drive home he was crying off and on so I ended up in the back with him to calm him down. We are all tired.
Kelley had a great day with her grandparents. Her gramE took her to the zoo and they had a picnic lunch. We missed her today but she would have been so tired of riding in the car and we would have had to stop for her to go potty. Progress today she pooped twice in the potty with her grandparents! She only wears diaper at nap and bedtime and goes most days without accident in her panties but has yet to grasp the poop in potty. She has been getting closer everyday so excited she went twice today! Here are a few pictures of her day today.
Thank you for your prayers and please continue to pray!
